Meet Your Beat, a provider of loops, sound effects and music has announced the addition of master percussionist Doc Gibbs to its artist roster. Gibbs' first collection of loops and one-shots has been released, along with more rhythmic expertise from master reggae percussionist Larry McDonald, as MYBVolume Three. The colelction is available for preview and download exclusively at Sonomic.

MYB loops and sounds are royalty-free. Sonomic customers can buy samples individually for $1.99, or they can purchase a monthly subscription for $29.99 that gives them 30 downloads each month.

Gibbs created his loops and one shots for MYBVolume Three using his famed conga moves, agogo blocks, conga, shaker, tambourine, and the Roland Handsonic. The result is two-and-four-bar loops created with an innate knowledge of how percussion mixes into TV, film or other media.

Doc Gibbs is one of the most sought-after percussionists in the music industry today. Whether he's recording, touring or kickin' it up a notch with Emeril Lagasse on the Food Network's "Emeril Live", the most popular cooking show in America. Doc musically operates on an audience with funky rhythms and with his vast assortment of traditional and unusual percussion instruments. He has worked with many of the music industry's top artists, including George Benson, Nancy Wilson, Bob James, Al Jarreau, Anita Baker, Wyclef Jean and Erykah Badu.

For his MYBVolume Three collection of over 100 loops and one shots, McDonald used the African repeater, the highly danceable Cajon from Peru, rattles, agogoblocks and the Bash a cutting-edge shaker designed by Bashiri Johnson to really cut through a mix -- as the basis for authentic and imaginative reggae beats that serve as the ideal foundation for a true Jamaican feel. His work provides original embellishments and one shots that will spice up any soundtrack with island-borne musicality, put a new spin on dance beats, and can also serve as attention-getting, often humorous sound effects ideal for TV, film and multi-media use.

McDonald is regarded by many as the premier percussionist in world reggae music. Now residing in New York City, McDonald's career began at the heart of the Jamaican reggae/ska scene, with a list of credits that includes such beloved artists as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Toots & the Maytals, Bunny Wailer, Bad Brains, Taj Mahal, Earnest Ranglin, the Skatalites, Gil Scott Heron, Soulfly and many, many more. He is also a founding member of two of NYC's top reggae acts, The Rocksteady 7 and Dub is a Weapon.

MYBVolume Three was produced by Meet Your Beat founder David Weiss. Weiss is the NYC editor of Mix magazine, a long-time contributor to Drum! magazine, and produces and performs electronic music as Impossible Objects.
