    By Guest |

At Winter NAMM, Zildjian announced the introduction of the Kozo Suganuma Artist Model drumstick to their Artist Series line of drumsticks. Known as "TE-KA-ZU-O" "The King with many strokes" is one of Japan's most respected super drummers. Kozo is a noted live and studio recording Artist, as well as a teacher, clinician and author.

Featuring a unique nylon mini-barrel tip and moderate taper, the new Kozo Suganuma drumstick yields great articulation and swing. The distinctive rough finish lacquer provides an exceptional gripping surface. The stick is well balanced with a bit of extra size at 16 1/4 inches long and 0.550 inches in diameter. The bright Metallic Green "Kozo" logo are indicative of the unique playing style of the artist himself. The stick is constructed from 100% select US Hickory at the Zildjian Stick Factory in Moundville, Alabama.

According to Zildjian's General Manager of Drumsticks, John Sorenson, "We took a lot of time to develop just the right tip for Kozo and a lacquer that made the stick feel just right. Kozo challenged us to construct this drumstick and we came up with a very unique model from tip to butt."

Kozo joins the already impressive worldwide lineup of Zildjian Artist Series Model Artists including Dennis Chambers, Trilok Gurtu, and Manu Katche.

List price is $14 per pair.
