Ernie Ball salutes America, donating their custom painted "Stars & Stripes" StingRay Bass to the eBay "Auction for America," with all proceeds going to the September 11 Relief Fund. This patriotic bass guitar, sporting a custom painted American flag, will be offered on eBay beginning Tuesday, October 16 until Friday October 26.

"Auction for America" takes advantage of eBay's virtual network of individuals around the world to raise funds to help the victims, their families and communities affected by last month's terrorist attacks. EBay is seeking help worldwide from those interested in purchasing or selling items, or donating cash directly to the fund. Ernie Ball wants to help contribute to the effort. "This bass seems perfect for the charity auction, and we hope it will make a difference," said Sterling Ball, president of the Ernie Ball Company.

The "Stars & Stripes" StingRay Bass is one of only two ever made featuring the custom paint job. It was originally designed for display at the Winter NAMM music trade show in January 2001, while its twin is currently used by the bass player for the popular country band Trick Pony, and can be seen on their current music video, "On a Night Like This."

The collectible guitar is equipped with a Music Man chrome-plated hardened steel bridge plate with stainless steel saddles, maple neck, shielding graphite acrylic resin coated body, a chrome plated brass control cover and, of course, a custom paint job of the American Flag.
