Ernie Ball Music Man has announced its latest versions of the StingRay 5 and Sterling basses, now available with an optional Music Man / Fishman piezo bridge.

Using a balance control, bassists have the ability to produce a full piezo acoustic sound, a full magnetic sound, or a blend of the two. Both basses have switchable series, parallel, and single coil modes for the magnetic pickup. The single coil mode also incorporates a phantom hum-canceling coil to provide less noise in that mode. Controls consist of three-band equalization: treble, mid, and bass, volume, and the balance control.

The two basses come in selected hardwoods with a high gloss polyester finish. Color choices include black, white, fire engine red, pearl blue, pearl platinum, pearl lavender, pearl purple, candy red, metalflake green, metalflake brown, black sparkle, translucent red, translucent teal, translucent orange, translucent gold, translucent purple, translucent green, or sunburst. Vintage sunburst, natural, and matching headstocks are available at an additional charge.
