Debuting at Winter NAMM 2001, Ashdown Engineering will launch two new low-cost Ashdown combos, the Electric Blue 130-12 and Electric Blue 130-15.

Designed to deliver the legendary Ashdown sound in a portable, affordable package, both combos share a full-featured bass preamplifier with active/passive instrument inputs, a "VU-style" LED input level meter, five-band EQ with bright and deep switches, a balanced DI output, FX loop and tuner/line out. Also common to both is a 130-watt RMS (260-watt program), fast-transient Mosfet power stage.

As their names suggest, the Electric Blue 130-12 uses a 12-inch Ashdown BlueLine speaker while the 130-15 uses a 15-inch speaker. Specially developed by Ashdown, BlueLine speakers use stiffened cones and oversized magnet assemblies to deliver exceptional low-end power without compromising mid-band attack or high-end brightness.

"For rehearsals or small venues, the Electric Blues pack a lot of power," says Ashdown's Mark Gooday. "Most importantly the sound is recognizably Ashdown, with plenty of low-end punch."
