  • MusicDojo Starts New Bass Courses Nov. 17

    By Guest |

Two online bass courses are starting on Monday, November 17th, at MusicDojo, taught by bassist, instructor, and author Adam Nitti. Both courses are four weeks in length, with lesson materials consisting of images, audio, and video clips posted each weekday. The online format allows you ask questions and submit your own audio tracks for critique.

Through the use of progressively more challenging exercises, "Mastering Right and Left Hand Technique" (course code BT101) is intended to help bassists of any level break bad playing habits and develop new ones, allowing them to remove technical barriers to their playing.

"Introduction to Jazz Improvisation" (course code BI105) is the first of three courses that will help you learn to improvise in any style, but especially in Jazz. The class focuses on the relationships between scales and chords, and provides a foundational approach for analyzing and playing over changes, with an emphasis on jazz, fusion, and other related styles and phrasing methods. Major and minor scale-derived harmonic concepts and key components are put into practice through 'hands-on' improvisational exercises. Some common and traditional chord progressions are demonstrated and exercised. The class also covers elementary tune analysis and improvising through key centers.

    Each course costs $49.95.
