  • LA Music Academy Hosts 3rd Annual Pasadena Bass Day July 19th

    LA Music Academy (http://www.lamusicacademy.edu) and The Bassquake Organization announced today their lineup for the annual Pasadena Bass Day, a public event for bassists created to bring a large community of musicians and manufacturers together for a full day of lessons, clinics, new product showcases and networking. Hosted at LA Music Academy, scheduled clinicians include Bill "The Buddha" Dickens,the legendary Chuck Rainey, Jonathon Herrera, Doug Johns,Oscar Cartaya,Terrance Palmerand Abe Laboriel. Some of these artists will be playing the pre-Bass Day "Bass-Bash" July 18th from 8pm- 12:00am at the world famous Baked Potato in Studio City.

    "Bass Day is the first of its kind for the city of Pasadena," says Jerry Watts, head of LA Music Academy's Bass Department. "Bassquake's Pete DeCuir is a great friend of mine and we partnered together to create the first Bass Day event in 2006. I was happy to encourage the Academy to host this year's event, not only for our community but for all interested musicians throughout Southern California." Watts says the event is a fun and entertaining learning experience capped by awe-inspiring, genre-crossing performances from which all levels of musicians can learn.
