The company that invented the electric bass now takes it to the Internet with a new publication to better reach bass players. Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) proudly introduces Bass Street, the new on-line publication at www.bassstreet.com exclusively for the bass playing community.

Bass players tend to have their own style, their own language and their own points of view when it comes to musical ideas, says Bob Willocks of Fender. Now, they have their own Fender website to help cultivate those ideas.

Bass Street is a comprehensive, on-line environment that features interviews with todays most prominent bass players, bass-related articles, instrument set-up and maintenance tips, as well as in-depth product highlights from the full line of FMIC bass gear. And for the first time ever, it can be found on one single website.

Its a lifestyle publication, adds Willocks, a lifestyle that only a bass player knows. Funk merchants, rastafarians, metalheads or punks, its always about laying down the groove, and thats become a way of life with all bass players. Bass Street brings that eclectic groove together in one place.

A wide range of musical influences are featured in the premiere issue Bass Street, which will update its on-line articles monthly. Among these are interviews with jazz great Victor Bailey, Stu Hamm and Chi Cheng of The Deftones, as well as features on Jaco Pastorius and Larry Graham.

In addition to the website, a printed version of Bass Street will be available at authorized Fender retailers worldwide beginning the week of September 25th, 2000. Subsequent print issues will follow bi-annually.
