Euphonic Audio, makers of bass instrument enclosures, has introduced their first bass instrument amplifier, the iAMP. With a feature compliment that even includes an on-board chromatic tuner, the iAMP is flexible yet easy to operate.

Conservatively rated at 500 watts RMS into a 4 ohm load (1000 watts peak), this compact head has four tone shaping presets - Deep, Presence, Thumb and Bright- that can be combined and used with a four band semi-parametric EQ system. An EQ bypass switch returns the system to flat operation. Twin fans maintain system cooling without generating excessive fan noise. The parallel and series effects loops each have return level controls on the front of the unit. A pre or post EQ signal can be selected for the front-mounted balanced output, which includes an independent level control.

The rear panel features SPEAKON and 1/4" inch speaker jacks, plus a 1/4" inch jack that allows the connection of a standard footswitch to mute the unit for silent tuning. In addition to the effects loop connections, the unit has two 1/4" inch line out jacks with level control for connection to other devices.

Gold-plated jack sockets used throughout the amplifier and point to point hand wiring is used to eliminate contact wear on signal connectors and consequent failure caused by vibration. With dimensions of 16x13.5x3.5, the 21 lb. iAMP is available with optional rack ears or a custom-made, carpeted road sleeve.

As a compliment to the iAMP, Euphonic Audio has released two enclosures based on their renowned VL-110 and VL-208 systems. The CVL-110 and CVL-208 systems include spaces for mounting an iAMP, resulting in a combo amplifier.
