    By Guest |

Carvin proudly introduces the new BX1200 and BX600 bass heads. Featuring advanced equalization, Active/Passive front panel input Gain switches, XLR direct outputs with Level control, a switchable effects loop, and numerous additional features designed specifically for bass players, the BX1200 and its smaller sibling, the BX600, are terrific amp units that can drive a variety of loudspeaker enclosures.

Both the BX1200 and BX600 provide the power bassists need for a wide variety of performance applications and are shipped in a rugged Duratuff™ covered housing. The BX1200 outputs a whopping 1,200 watts (4-ohms bridged) while the BX600 delivers 600 watts at 2 ohms. With the BX1200, there is an internal crossover for bi-amp operation, and the bass head can be removed from the supplied housing and mounted into any standard 19-inch equipment rack.

Additionally, the BX1200 also provides high current Speakon™ connectors. The BX1200 dual mono block and BX600 mono block bass heads offer rich tone quality generated from discrete Class A preamps—a proven amplifier design that delivers the reliability bassists demand. These versatile amp heads feature an EQ section that starts with the contour control going from a flat mid response to a heavy scooped mid response that is perfect for slap bass players. These outstanding bass amps feature a 5-band tone control section with three semi-parametric EQ controls plus high and low shelving controls. Additionally, both models include a foot-switchable, 9-band graphic EQ for further contouring of one's sound. To warm the sound up, the front panel Drive control can push the Class A preamps to a warm growl—providing the ultimate in tonal diversity. There is also a Master control for the preamp.

Both the BX1200 and the BX600 include Active/Passive front panel input Gain switches that enable these units to accept input signals from bass guitars with or without built-in preamps. These models also include a single knob silent optical compressor with an auto limiter function to provide precise control over the signal so as to optimize the amplifier's performance. For incorporating additional signal processing capabilities, both models provide an effects loop that is controllable via either the front panel or with the optionally available FS22 footswitch. Further, both models include a tuner output jack.

Carson Kiesel, President of Carvin Corporation, commented on the company's new bass offerings, "The BX1200 and BX600 offer today's gigging bass player a reliable, proven power source with outstanding equalization control and a wealth of features that make these models perfect for a wide range of applications. I believe these two new bass heads offer exceptional value for bass players everywhere."

The new Carvin BX1200 and BX600 are sold factory direct at $649.99 and $479.99 respectively. Both models are available now.
