Members abzurd
I saw the Chauvet 6 spot last week when purchasing a hazer at a local shop. Using the hazer this weekend, what I was afraid of is what happened. While the Galaxian 3D laser looks great with haze, the moonflower LED fixtures we have, a Vue 2.1 and an American DJ HyperGem, aren't bright enough to really make effective beams, especially with the 6, 1watt x 45 LED wash panels we use. Anyway, I was curious if anyone has tried these with haze. Specifically, are they bright enough to maintain a sharp beam effect? I realize while passing through the stage wash they'll get lost, but past that I want to see a nice beam when the room is hazed. Otherwise what's the point? A pin spot isn't exactly a great effect on the floor. It's all about the beam. I think it's a 3W LED in each one. Thanks -
Members BillESC
AT 814 lux @ 1 meter they aren't very bright plus the 11 degree beam spread is a bit wide. Although only white, Chauvet's LED Pinspot 2 offers 15,000 lux @ 1 meter and a 6 degree beam spread. NOW we're talking beams. They MAP for $ 39.99 http://www.chauvetlighting.com/led-pin-spot-2.html
Members abzurd
That's kind of what I figured. Oh well, at least the laser looks kick @$$ with the hazer.
Members 123doug
First let me say I am very new at this. I just bought the Chauvet 6 spot and most of the stuff I do is in small venues. One thing I liked about the Chauvet 6 is they are very responsive to sound. For the the price I found they are a very good addition to my selection of lights. I will send you a couple of links that I posted on Youtube. Some video there are to many lights at one time and some have to much fog 8-) working on that.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEnZhuGo3nghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7E3SP8mcwohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOIXLfMfJO8
