Members ExplodingBoy
I read that one of the good things about the JD-990 is that it plays back at CD quality 44khz or something whereas some other romplers downsample slightly. Do the EX series also play at CD quality?
Members midi
According to the EX manual sampling is at 44.1khz. I know the Roland XV-5080 was 44.1K but the XV3080 was 32K which might give it a little bit of a warmer sound....
Members Artur Meinild
Most romplers from the 90's and 00's are 44 or 48 KHz, and the converters are usually 48K. But what does a lower sample rate have to do with warmer sound?
Members midi
Maybe it sounds warmer because the top end is rolled off some, i dont know.... ;)

Members ExplodingBoy
I asked this in relation to that thread which discussed the engine on the JD-990 VS. that of the XV series. The XV accepts 44khz samples, but the playback engine is 32 whereas the JD is 44 all the way. I just wondered if the EX series were on par with the JD in terms of the sampling engine rate. You can definately hear more clear definition on the JD over the Rolands with 32khz so it got me wondering what the EX series had.
