Members Banded-Morwong
Hi Guys. Banded Morwong here Just a couple of questions about the Whammy pedal. I'm trying to incorporate "Drone" elements along the Vein of Earth and Sunn O))) into my songs. Not easy to do when your guitar is tuned to D Is the whammy an effective we to instantly detune to a stupidly low tuning in the middle of a song and keep it that way until the drone part is over? Also, if i do this can it be put in my effect loop (I use a JSX) along with a reverb and delay so that i can leave all the pedals on and switch them on and off using the effects loop footswitch? that way it would easy enough to turn on the reverb, delay and whammy at the same time by only hitting one switch. Thanks guys. Drone on! and on and on
Members TrashFace
try either a whammy on the octave down/ octave up setting in the heel position. and yes on that effects loop question. also look into the boss oc3
Members Banded-Morwong
Will the Whammy be better at chords then the OC-3?

Members Banded-Morwong
no? {censored}, i will need whatever i use to be able to downtune my guitar whilst still handling basic heavy pounding chords, is it the Boss pedal that will do that best? Members TrashFace
the boss pedal is polyphonic and handles chords better than the whammy. i used the whammy octave down with only 5ths or single notes. otherwise it is mush. but mush is cool with sunn crap. Members endo23
For chords, you'll need an EH Hog. Prepare to shell out some ducats, though.

Members PFDarkside
POG is my suggestion as well. It only does one octave down though.http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ElectroHarmonix-POG-Polyphonic-Octave-Generator-?sku=153330
Members Banded-Morwong
one octave isnt really enough. I will try out the Boss pedal, its cheap so if it doesnt do it i wont have broken the bank
Members endo23
I was actually thinking HOG, not POG. Does +-2 Octaves and allows exp. pedal control.http://www.ehx.com/ehx2/Default.asp?q=f&f=%2FCatalog%2F01%5FNew%5FProducts%2F07%5FHOG
Members PFDarkside
I know it's obviously a distortion too, but what about a Blue Box? (If you are even considering $500 for a HOG...)
