Members Johnstinkpants
I posted about this before a few weeks ago but I can't find the thread and need to make a decision on this tonight My valveking 212 has been making horribly rustly/farty noises on both channels, and the tone of the lead channel ocassionally changes and sounds like the treble has been rolled off. I'm fairly sure this a power tube problem but I'm looking for someone with a bit of knowledge to confirm this. This picture shows what I think is the problem tube: It's not glowing blue like the rest. If I tap the amp anywhere i hear a blast of rustling, but this happens loudest when I tap that tube. Will replacing the tube solve the problem? Also, any ideas why this has happened? Although I do gig every couple of weeks or so, I've only had the amp a few months.... Finally, will I get any compatibility issues if I just throw these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JJ-TESLA-6L6GC-Valves-Tubes-matched-pair-NEW-6L6-TONE_W0QQitemZ230018373580QQihZ013QQcategoryZ39997QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem) in alongside the other 2 tubes or should it work fine? Sorry for the lengthy post, any help would be appreciated
Members Shask
You should probably replace all 4 at once with a matched quad...
