Members confuseitall
Ok, I'm looking at buying a Schatten Dualie. I've kept my eye out lately and have heard good things about it around here. I'm buying this with an extra $100 (after groceries but before beer) and won't have much left for investing in a preamp. I had originally planned on an I-Beam system (installed $200), but I'm finding I need a pickup solution ASAP for open mics and small local gigs. Will the Dualie sound okay plugged straight into the mixer at small venues until I can afford a Baggs Para or other??
Members madog99
I got one recentley and it has lots of output on my old PA with out any PRE. Still getting around to installing it permantley and that should make it sound better , so they say.
Members orsino
Agree. It will sound OK without DI but much better with!
Members Singin' Dave
+1 It will do Ok for you w/ out a pre until you can afford one. Then, when you do get your nice Baggs pre, you will be even more impressed with it!
Members seven7
glad to see some of you other guys have given the dualie a shot now! i agree with the others. it will actually work with decent output with no preamp. actually i never use a pre with mine, but i do use a 7-band eq to boost it up sometimes. Members orsino
Just buy it direct from Les Schatten.
Members taylorguitarman
I bought one to play with a little while back. It's very handy and not bad sounding. The toughest part is deciding on where to place it. For about $50 you can't go wrong.
