Members bgmacaw
Now that they're over 20 years old they've obtained vintage Fender mojo. This adds about $1000 to the price so $1800 is about right for a guitar that sold for $800 a few years ago. I'd suggest searching around for them on the Internet to see what the going price is right now. About $600-800 was about right a few years ago but I'm only half-joking about the effect of vintage Fender mojo on the price.
Members walt0915
My experience with Strats from that era says this: there are great ones, good ones, and not-so-good ones. If you have a great one or good one, you probably can't get what its worth to you. Otherwise market values prevail. Being CBS and only just in the vintage category unless you can get your buyer to play it it won't sell for what its worth. The good ones are worth more than that to a player. If its not so good, the market is prime to sell.
Members OrvilleGibson
Pick up a copy of "Vintage Guitar". Check all the Strat's listed in the Ads. Find the Average. Then divide that by 2. It's simple, really.
