Members preservation Posted June 14, 2005 Members Share Posted June 14, 2005 i love my catalinbread SCP, but i need another boost/dist type pedal that can get a bit raunchy-i don't usually have any luck with straight-up dist. boxes (a la RAT(modded) and 1978 MXR D+), although i love artificial freak-out boxes like my fabtone.for this i need something somewhat natural, but with a bit more edge than your typical overdrive. p.s., i hate tubescreamers. please help !------------------------------------------right now my potential choices are: catalinbread Super Charged Overdrive Nick Greer Sweetback Nick Greer Claymore anybody have any other ideas in the 100-150 price range ? Members jonny guitar Posted June 14, 2005 Members Share Posted June 14, 2005 Fair enough, though I must say that Keeleys own pedals are far nicer than his mods IMO. How about a Foxrox Zim. I have one with a CS (clean boost) on one side and an H9 (hot and hifidelity tubescreamer) on the other side. You can get all sorts of different cards depending on the sounds you are after and there is a tons of great sounds do to the setup of the tonal controls.
