Got an opportunity to buy a Korg A1 - should I?

These don't seem to come around very often, and I have an A3, so I know about the quality of the effects.

The A1 is 2 space instead of 1 space, but the flexibility of the effects chains seems much better than the A3. And if the architecture is as similar as it seems to be, this unit should provide a good basis for my live rack, replacing my Digitech 2112.

Any opinions?

Actually, the A1 is a totally different animal. The A2 is more akin to the A3 with the primary difference being mono in -->>stereo out. The processing engine of the A1 is very different and program chains on the A2 and A3 will not work on the A1.

So...how much is the A1?? All the A series were great pieces.

He was going to sell it anyway for 350 with a BiN on Ebay. Go see if he'll take 325 and sell the FC6 on ebay and recover some of your cost. It's still a bargain at any price compared to the junk that is currently being produced today. The A1 was 2995 back in 91. So anything less than that is a deal IMO.
