Members subenius
So i'm completing my first rack setup and I have a (probably dumb) question. Is the use of the 8ohm outs versus the 4ohm outs on my 2:90 going to result in a noticeable difference is tone quality/volume? I'm likely buying a recto 4x12 cab tomorrow, which as all of you know has stereo INs at 4 Ohms per channel, whereas a 1960 4x12 has stereo INs at 8 ohms per channel - aside from the different tonal colors of these cabs, what can I expect from using only one side of the parallel 4 ohm OUTs on the 2:90. Here is my silly drawing to illustrate what took me a paragraph to spew out.

Members ocnor
If your amp is functioning correctly there will be no difference in tone or volume between the 4 ohm and 8 ohm outs.

Members El Grinder
You'll need to run one stereo side of the 2:90 to the recto cab and one stereo side to the 1960 cab. Otherwise, you'll be mismatching impedence and end up with an odd 3 ohm load instead of 4 or 8 ohms.
Members subenius
yeah, i understand that. the picture is to demonstrate my two options currently (as in, one or the other cabinet) not both.
Members El Grinder
Ah, good, good... Then, as said above, tone quality and volume shouldn't suffer, per se. The two cabinets have VERY different speakers though. The difference between G12T-75 speakers and Vintage 30s is quite noticable.
Members subenius
yeah - since I started this thread I took my new rig to GC and tried several cabs... 1960 marshall was definitely my favorite. The Mesa was sweet but the lows were a little too swampy for me - v30s are great, but I just dug the marshall more.
