Members adasaari19 Posted March 23, 2007 Members Share Posted March 23, 2007 Has anyone used the MXL 990 for miking a guitar amp. Is there too much ambient noise? Would they blow out the diaphram? I can think of several applications where the 57 is better than the 990 but none where the 990 is better than the 57. Without hearing your setup, I'd still recommend the 57.
