  • Turbosound Introduces Three New Aspect Series Loudspeakers

    By Guest |

Turbosound is introducing three significant new additions to the award-winning Aspect® series of modular point-source sound reinforcement enclosures incorporating patented Polyhorn™ designs.

The new TA-500 is a three-way, full-range (60Hz to 18kHz) enclosure designed to provide wider dispersion characteristics making it ideally suited to regional touring, theatres and fixed installations. Comprising a Turbo-loaded 15-inch LF driver, a single 10-inch mid driver on a MF Polyhorn™ and a single HF driver on an HF Polyhorn™, the TA-500 makes use of a similar driver complement - and hence similar voicing characteristics - as the longer-throw Aspect TA-880 products. This makes integrating these models together possible in any given venue. The TA-500 is being shown in fixed install/ground stacked guise, with additional models being added to the range later in the year. This unit further highlights the Aspect ® product range, now encompassing TA-890 touring and TA-880 fixed install variants, plus high/mid and low/mid downfills, supported by the double 15-inch TA-890L and double 18-inch TSW-218 bass cabinets.

Also new at NSCA is the high-efficiency TSB-118 bandpass subwoofer. Designed both for installation and portable sound use, the TSB-118 single 18-inch bandpass subwoofer employs a single 600W RMS 18-inch driver in a bandpass designed enclosure. Tuned to provide a frequency response of 35Hz to 150Hz, the TSB-118 is a perfect compliment to Aspect® and TCS Series enclosures, as well as larger QLight™ models such as the TQ-315 and TQ-445. The standard cabinet includes stacking feet and a pole holder with an optional wheelboard for portable use.

Rounding out the trio is the TCS-C50T five-inch two-way ceiling speaker designed to deliver high-quality audio in a high power, 75W rms, ceiling speaker package. Compliant with BS5839-8 and IEC/EN60894 Voice Evacuation Standards, the TCS-C50T is molded in paintable ABS plastic with perforated steel grilles and optional steel back can. It employs a five-inch low-frequency driver with a soft dome tweeter to give an extremely consistent 180° conical dispersion.

The TCS-C50T connections are on a Phoenix-style removable screw terminal connector via a covered cable clamp, with an additional thermal fuse to minimize the chance of short circuit failure in the event of fire. Available in 16 ohm and 70/100V line transformer versions, ceiling support tile bridges are optionally available.

    Units to ship May 2006.
