  • Tama Starclassic Bubinga Reserve Debuts at Namm

    By Guest |

Tama unveiled its second Starclassic Reserve limited edition drum collection at the Nashville NAMM Show. The gorgeous new high-end drums will feature Tama's famous bubinga shells with an outer-ply of striking North American walnut. Carrying the long moniker of Starclassic Bubinga Reserve Smoky Satin Walnut, these collector's dream drum sets will be available in two different configurations: a 5pc kit with a "compact" (relatively speaking) 18 x 20" bass drum, and a 6pc kit with a thunderous Ultra-Deep 20 x 22" bass drum. A 7 x 8" add-on tom and 14 x 16" add-on floor tom are also available.

Only 50 sets (total of both versions) will be available worldwide with less than 25 slated for the United States. Each kit comes with a TAMA Certificate of Authenticity.

Background. The 2008 Starclassic Bubinga Reserve is just the second Tama's limited edition Starclassic Reserve drum sets. The first was The Starclassic Maple Reserve, which was displayed at the 2005 Summer NAMM Show in Indianapolis, IN. That set featured premium maple shells with an outer ply of rare curly maple.

The kit has a list price of $7689.99.
