Softube Saturation Knob - Free to Presonus Studio One 2 Users

With the launch of Presonus Studio One 2.5, a collaboration between Presonus and Softube is also announced. Softube's highly popular Saturation Knob plug-in is now available as a free download to users of Presonus Studio One Professional and Studio One Producer versions. What is the Saturation Knob?
As one might expect from the name, Saturation Knob can be used as an insert effect on any channel to add a little - or a lot - of saturation to the sound. It not only gives a truly analog distortion but also adds compression to the sound. It's a highly useful tool and we have even heard entire mixes done with the Saturation Knob as the only effect!
The amount of saturation can be continuously controlled by setting the knob, and the saturation effect can be switched between Neutral, which saturates the entire frequency band, Keep Low, which keeps the low frequencies from being saturated and Keep High which conversely does not saturate the high frequencies. Combining these three settings and the amount of saturation gives a wide variety of sounds.
Softube's Saturation Knob has previously been made available as part of the ProChannel in Sonar X1 Producer Expanded, as a free AAX plug-in for Pro Tools 10 and as a paid plug-in for Propellerhead Reason's new plug-in format Rack Extensions. With today's release, we hope even more people will discover the creative possibilities that lie within this simple plug-in.
