New Soundgear Basses from Ibanez

Ibanez has again expanded their Soundgear line with the new SR480 and SR485 basses. At the January 1999 show the line was expanded at the beginner and high-end ranges. This time the target is the mid-price range. "We noticed that more and more of our heavy music artists like Fieldy of Kom and Sam Rivers of Limp Bizkit were playing oilfinished basses," commented Masashi Inoue of Ibanez. "Unfortunately for their fans, those rich dark looks usually came at a somewhat rich price."
"So at this price point, the new SR480 four string and SR485 are great way for players to get something approaching the looks and sound of a boutique bass without breaking the bank. In other words, the SR480 and SR485 allow players to play heavier at a lighter price."
