The new zenAmp head and combo from Hughes & Kettner take the Dynamic Sector Modeling found in their flagship zenTera modeling amplifier and makes it accessible to more guitarists.

The zenAmp Head boasts the same punchy power amp (200 watts RMS, stereo) as its big brother, the zenTera head. And with that kind of dynamo in the engine room, it delivers 16 amp models at any volume level, from a senior citizen-friendly whisper to a paint-peeling roar. You can mix, match and combine effects offered by the three FX sections Reverb, Delay and Modulation at will, whereby the latter two give you 15 effect models to choose from.

The Combo version of the zenAmp is designed for the working artist who needs a portable, versatile and easy-to-use amp. Sporting the same preamp as the Head version, the Combo's 120-watt RMS stereo power amp has plenty of clout to cut through even at high volume levels. Its cleverly designed speaker array shoehorns two 12" speakers into a 1x12" housing. And in a bid to extend the dynamic range and prevent undesirable phase cancellations, the Combo was equipped with two different Celestion 12" speakers (a Vintage 30 and a Rockdriver Junior). The combo also differs with a different amp model, offering the California Hot in place of the SOLO 100 (a model of the Soldano SLO 100) found in the zenAmp head.

    • 16 Amp models
