At Summer NAMM Line 6 announced the newest additions to the POD family, Bass PODXT and Bass PODXT Pro. Bass PODXT and Bass PODXT Pro provide direct bass guitar tone in the studio or on the stage. They include a re-engineered tone engine, all-new amp and cab models, and an expanded and improved set of effects.

Bass PODXT/Pro features 29 modern and classic amp models, 23 cabinet models, 4 mic models and 64 channel memories. In addition, Bass PODXT/Pro delivers six simultaneous effects that can be flexibly routed to meet unique sonic needs. These effects include models of classic distortion boxes, delays, choruses and flangers, as well as synth effects, filter effects and character-rich reverbs. In addition, a high-end compressor model and six band semi-parametric EQ are available at all times.

Bass PODXT/Pro offers USB support for Digital Audio In and Out, a screen display for deep patch editing, and Flash memory that allows for easy upgrades to incorporate the latest technology from Line 6. Other features include discrete outputs for the modeled and direct signal, the ability to blend the direct signal into the modeled output, a biamp mode, tuner, A.I.R. II mic/speaker simulation, and full MIDI implementation.

In addition to including the features of Bass PODXT, Bass PODXT Pro contains a complete selection of analog and digital connections and features, including 24-bit/96kHz digital ins and outs (AES/EBU & S/PDIF), effects loop, line input and XLR balanced analog out, all in a rackmount design.

Bass PODXT and Bass PODXT Pro are compatible with Line 6's FBV and FBV Shortboard, providing access to 64 presets via hands-free channel switches, large backlit name display, dedicated stompbox on/off switches, combination wah/volume pedal, tap tempo switch, and expression pedal input, among other features. They are also compatible with FBV4 for access to 4 channels.
