Gretsch introduced its new G6128TSP Duo Jet Special guitar at this summer's NAMM show in Nashville. This guitar is a faithful reproduction of a 1957 Duo Jet guitar, made famous by the Beatles during their Hamburg days and Cavern era.
The G6128TSP Duo Jet Special is a solid body, single cutaway guitar with tone chambers featuring an arched laminated maple top and mahogany back and sides. The one piece mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard and aged hump block inlays, a unique feature that was only used on this guitar in 1957.
There are two DynaSonic single coil pickups, with a 3-position toggle switch, a volume control for each pickup, master volume control and master tone control. The hardware includes a "Rocking" Bar Bridge on ebony base, Bigsby B3C Vibrato tailpiece and Grover V98C Sta-Tite machine heads.
Available in Mahogany Stain with Jet Black Top. US MSRP is $3,125.00.
