Line 6 announced today at NAMM Winter Session the release of its newest amplifier, Flextone III. Flextone III is the latest product to be unveiled as part of the Line 6 dynasty of amplifiers. Flextone III is a versatile amplifier that provides guitarists with ample power for live performances and modeled tone and effects at any volume.

Flextone III is powerful enough to exceed the expectations of the onstage performer, while delivering the same refined tone and effects for recording or rehearsing at any desired volume. Line 6 has created the Flextone III to deliver faithful reproductions of famous vintage and modern brand name amplifiers. Furthermore, it achieves the "sweet spot" of the amplifiers it models with no degradation of tone at low or high volumes.

Flextone III features 32 new amplifier models, helping to further Line 6's patented digital modeling technology. The new models are based on a Fender Vibroverb, Marshall Silver Jubilee and a Cornford mk50h, among others.

Flextone III delivers 12 effect models, including, analog delays, flangers, rotary speakers, and compressors, among others. Flextone III's 16 speaker cabinet models can be mixed and matched with any of the amp models and effects. Three versions of the new amplifier are available to consumers: Flextone III, a 60 watt 1x12" amp; Flextone III Plus, a 60 watt 1x12" amp that converts to a 100 watt stereo amp with the addition of the Flextone III Cab; and, Flextone III XL, a 100 watt 2x12" stereo amp. The Plus and XL models provide stereo XLR outputs for direct recording or feeding live sound to a P.A. Each Flextone III amplifier features MIDI tone transfer compatibility, Line 6's new "tube modeling" current-based-power amps, and FBV Shortboard compatibility.

Flextone III has a sleek and classic design with an uncomplicated user interface that will be comfortable to any guitarist that plugs into it. In addition to familiar amp controls, Flextone III has amp model, cabinet and effect selector knobs, further encapsulating the benefits of this versatile amplifier. The Flextone III will be available in Q1 2003 and the prices are as follows:

    • Flextone III MSRP: $1049.99 (Estimated Street: $779.99)
