Minnetonka Audio Software Europe (MASE) To Debut Dolby E At AES

Building on the success of other recent tradeshow appearances, several new Minnetonka Audio Software products will make their European debut in stand #2212 at the 124th Audio Engineering Society convention in Amsterdam. MASE will be sharing a booth with partner Sonic Studio, LLC.

Here is a brief summary of the new introductions:

• Introduction of SurCode for Dolby E Decoder
• Introduction of Lawo SurCode for Dolby E
• Introduction of a new Dolby Media Meter plug-in for AWE

First, the SurCode for Dolby E Decoder, for Pro Tools (Mac/PC) and Minnetonka AudioTools AWE (Mac), offers the unique ability to decode Dolby E files back to discrete PCM and perform any production work that is required. SurCode for Dolby E Decoder provides output and routing control of audio streams on a channel or program basis via a simple user interface that includes channel configuration, output metering, and metadata display of both Dolby E streams and individual program material. While the Pro Tools plug-in allows the integrated access to Dolby E files from within the workstation, AudioTools AWE has been designed to offload and automate workflow from the DAW. Both options are part of the same SurCode for Dolby E Decoder license.

SurCode for Dolby E Decoder retails for $3,495 and is available through MASI's international network of pro audio resellers, and online.

Next, in a common development effort, Lawo, Dolby and Minnetonka Audio Software, Inc. (MASI) announce the new Lawo SurCode for Dolby E Real-Time Decoder plug-in that functions as a VST plug-in and is controlled by a graphical user interface allowing for full control and recall on the fly, completely integrated into the Lawo production environment. Lawo SurCode for Dolby E has been designed for full compatibility and interoperability with Dolby E hardware equipment.

LAWO SurCode for Dolby E Real-Time Decoder retails for €2.850 and is available from Lawo, through Minnetonka's international network of pro audio resellers, and online.

Finally, Minnetonka Audio Software announces the addition of a Dolby® Media Meter plug-in for AudioTools AWE.

Dolby Media Meter is a new software loudness meter that has been added to the Dolby Media Producer family of products and is designed to measure subjective loudness of dialogue, enabling postproduction and broadcast facilities to minimize inconsistencies between programs, channels, disc based media or gaming audio elements. Continuing the success of the highly acclaimed Dolby® LM100 Broadcast Loudness Meter, Dolby Media Meter includes Dialogue Intelligence™ the algorithm for measuring the subjective loudness of speech within programs that addresses the issue of interpreting loudness based on VU or PPM meters — which were never designed to measure loudness.

Dolby Media Meter plug-in for AudioTools AWE will be available later this year.
