Celemony Software announced v2.0 of Melodyne, the next major upgrade to their revolutionary audio editing software, with some features not shown previously at Winter NAMM.

New in v2.0 is the option to integrate Melodyne into existing recording environments. Based on established technologies like VST, ReWire and AudioUnits, Melodyne can be run in sync with most DAWs, and offers redirection of its output into the DAWs mixers. This removes the need to import and export audio files, considerably assisting the workflow.

Melodyne v2.0 also brings a new dimension to its unique audio features with the integration of MIDI. Both editing and mixing can be undertaken with MIDI keyboards and controllers. In addition, v2.0 can now integrate a broad range of VST-Plug Ins and AudioUnits as Insert- and Send- FX. The mixer section has also been enhanced, a new EQ section and the support of submixing-groups completes this upgrade.

An unusual new tool is the option to to record guitars through hexaphonic pickups with Melodyne. Guitar recordings can be processed and become independent in pitch and tempo, each note being edited individually.

Melodyne 2.0 will be shipped by the end of May, 2003.

Anyone registering a copy of v1.5 from 01 January, 2003 onwards will qualify automatically for a free upgrade to v2.0. Customers who registered their copy of Melodyne before that date get their upgrade for a charge of €99.
