At NAMM, Ibanez offered two new Ibanez AX120 models featuring "weathered finishes." "These open pore, thin flat finishes give the guitars a look of instruments that have seen their share of the action--and look even better for the experience," commented Jeremy Stockton of Ibanez Inside Sales and Service.

Ibanez AX models are based on Ibanez' original design double-cutaway Artist, but feature crystal cuts on the body for a more modern look. AX models are, according to the 2004 Ibanez catalog, "designed for players who just want to get out and do it. No frills, no bells, no whistles. AX guitars have everything you need (and nothing you don't) for heavy-duty rock playing: two-humbuckers, a three-way switch and a mahogany body." AX models are also available a models with a D-tuner (AX125), a quilted-maple top (AX220QM), a set-in neck (AXS32) and a crafted-in-Japan 7-string Prestige model

The two new AX120 models are available in WBR, Weathered Brown, and WK, Weathered Black, as well as the original AX120 finishes of AB Antique Bronze, and GN, Gray Nickel. The list price is $399.99
