  • Guinness Record for Longest Guitar Playing Broke with Cleartone Strings

    By Guest |

June 17th, 2011 - Dublin Ireland - Irish guitar player, Dave Browne, broke the Guinness Book of Records for the longest guitar playing marathon at 114 hours straight.

He started 4pm Sunday June 12th and didn't stop playing until 10:20am on Friday morning June 17th. His original goal was to play for 100 hours but the previous record for 113 hours was not registered until the Friday before Browne started. Browne didn't find out until Thursday with only 6 hours left of the goal of 101. The record was broken during his attempt raising the record limit to 113. Dave went on to continue playing until he was the undisputed champion of guitar playing marathon and verified by Guinness World Records.

Cleartone Strings sponsored the event supplying Dave with guitar strings. "Dave used only one set of Cleartone Strings during the entire guitar playing," says musician Stephen Carroll, a long time friend of Dave Browne, and one of the event coordinators. "Dave didn't even break one string; a testament to Cleartone's long life and durability," says Carroll.
