Elation to Introduce Revolutionary Moving Head at LDI

Platinum Spot 5R utilizes revolutionary light source technology to deliver 575w output at ½ size, ½ energy usage, 2x speed! Elation Professional will be introducing an intelligent spot/wash moving head like no other seen before at LDI 2009 in Orlando. The new Platinum Spot 5R emits an output comparable to a 575-watt fixture, yet it's half the size, uses less than half the energy, and — amazingly —weighs half as much as a typical 250-watt fixture! It also moves faster on pan and tilt, as well as on color/gobo changes. Or, to look at it another way — in comparison to a 250-watt fixture, the Platinum Spot 5R not only weighs 50% less, but blasts out twice the output, uses 25% less energy, while measuring 2/3 the size. This ability to obtain 575-watt-like brightness in such an incredibly small, fast, energy-efficient package is something that designers and lighting installers have constantly asked for, said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. The Platinum Spot 5R represents a giant advance in this direction, thanks in part to a new, breakthrough light source technology developed for Elation. Among the Platinum Spot 5R's many professional features is the ability to function as a Hybrid Spot/Wash effect, thanks to Variable Frost, which can be applied to soften and diffuse a hard-edge beam, giving the fixture greater versatility. Producing rich, saturated colors — with an especially vibrant Red — it includes 8 dichroic colors, and 8 rotating and 14 static gobos. The Platinum Spot 5R also features a Motorized Iris, Focus and Rotating Prism Effect. Along with its all-new light source technology, the Platinum Spot 5R incorporates superior optics for a flat, even light field.
