  • DVK Technologies Offer Sneak Peek At GNR8-130 2 x 12 Stereo Guitar Amp

    By Guest |

The GNR8-130 (Generate) is 130W powered stereo guitar amplifier cabinet designed specifically for use with any DSP- or analog-based direct recording device or preamp. The current crop of guitar modelling and effects units offer incredible realism and versatility to guitarists. Some of the most sought-after vintage tones and effects are now just a button push away. These incredible amp simulations are at our disposal for the first time without the prohibitive expense and bulk associated with classic hardware units. The problem in a live environment is that traditional guitar amps were never designed to reproduce the types of signals these units generate. Direct splits to the PA is acceptable for some, but this rarely delivers what guitarists truly desire — the feel of a real amp pumping air behind them and that unmistakeable up-close and personal feel. The GNR8-130 solves these problems by delivering a full range frequency response system with headroom, dynamics, low distortion and the familiar feel and form of a guitar amp. Constrained layer cabinet design and construction ensures the closest possible neutral response. Whatever goes in, comes out a lot louder and unadulterated by amp and cabinet coloring. Tailored to be in line with the GNR8-130's preamp and amp, 2 x 12" specially selected full range speakers from Lorantz Audio Services (C304P/PA) have been employed to ensure accurate reproduction of any modeller. The flat response of the cabinet, coupled with the true sonic reproduction of the amp and speakers perfectly complements the quality of today's top modelling devices. The Bass, Middle, & Treble controls have been voiced specifically for guitar. Conceptually, we have included this EQ to provide the user with the ability to tailor the overall tone to suit the room/ environment in use. The same may also be applied to the particular rack equipment chosen. This ???global' EQ is an active design ensuring a true boost & cut of 6db with virtually no interaction between the 3 bands. In addition, ultra low distortion Burr Brown™ op-amps, and high quality Audio Grade Capacitors have been employed to transparently carry your guitar's tone. In a nutshell — The GNR8-130 ensures that DSP units, modelers, and emulators sound like they were designed to! The cabinet offers 4RU rackmount bays in which to house your favorite devices. Designed with a comfortable viewing angle of 25 degrees, the internal rack bay is perfect for adjusting your settings at a glance. It also offers protection during transportation of your amp and makes for a simple and speedy setup. A heavy duty, Tolex covered and removable faceplate acts as an access point for rack installation and finishes the amp with a traditional look and feel. Cable and utility storage space can be conveniently found on either side of the 19" rack bay. The new GNR8-130 will be showcased along with the full range of DVK Technologies products at the NAMM 2010 International trade show. We have put thought and effort into delivering the GNR8-130 and we hope that it exceeds expectations for guitarists everywhere."
