Guild® is proud to introduce the USA-made Contemporary Series. Featuring traditional tonewoods, patented construction designs and revolutionary features, the new Guild Contemporary Series instruments provide all the quality and tones modern players expect from their instruments, with innovative twists on traditions that must be played and heard to be believed!

Said Donnie Wade, Marketing Manager for Guild, "The new Guild Contemporary Series instruments are truly a step forward for Guild. They represent a return to more traditional luthiery techniques, attention to detail and consistency, while at the same time embracing some really revolutionary ideas."

The instruments in the new Guild Contemporary Series include the vintage F-30-sized CO-1 and CO-1C with cutaway, as well as the CV-1 and CV-1C, which are based on Guild's classic F-40 design. Each model features a newly designed, patented graphite neck block system that provides increased sustain and clarity, while maintaining a balanced tone and projection for all playing styles. Top grade tonewoods give each model its individual voice, and a thin lacquer finish will protect the instrument while letting it breathe and age properly.

Additionally, both the CO-1C and CV-1C feature the new Wave-Length™ pickup and pre-amp from D-TAR® with the exclusive Load 'N Lock™ battery access. This newly designed system features an under-saddle pickup system that combines a thin, piezo transducer with an 18-volt, low-noise, high-input impedance preamp. The D-TAR® Wave-Length™ pickup's volume and tone controls are nestled in the soundhole for easy access. With all the controls at one's fingertips, and the pickup itself residing at the endpin, there's no loss of tone due to heavy routing on the top side of the guitar.

To derive its 18 volts, Wave-Length™ requires two standard "AA" batteries and a proprietary voltage power booster. With its new Load 'N Lock™ system, "AA" battery changes are quick and easy by simply unscrewing the endpin "collar," removing the old batteries and adding new ones.

    US MSRP begins at $2,299.99.
