  • Clavia Releases New Free Sounds for Nord Electro

    By Guest |

Clavia has created three new exclusive piano sounds for the Nord Electro V2.0 and Nord Electro 2 stage keyboards.

Rhodes Mark V: According to Harold Rhodes, the brilliant inventor of the Rhodes piano, the Mark V was "the best Rhodes ever built". Compared to earlier models, the Mark V offered a lot of new features, such as improved clarity in the upper range, better consistency of tone in the low range, an all-new action, extending the hammer stroke length by 23%, and a rugged, light-weight enclosure, which reduced the weight of the piano by 35%. The fact is, the sound of the Mark V offers increased clarity, and sustain over earlier versions of Rhodes pianos. The new action increased the dynamic range, which also offered new harmonics. The Rhodes Mark V piano sampled for the Nord Electro was built in June 1984 and was adjusted to "ideal" timbre. The so-called volume adjustment was set to "close".

Malmsjoe Acoustic Grand (close miked) - in stereo: This acoustic grand instrument is a new version of the existing Malmsjoe Acoustic Grand. For this version Clavia placed the microphones closer to the piano to get more "presence" in the sound.

Upright Piano by Svenska Pianofabriken (Swedish Piano Factory) - in stereo: This is a very nice and a bit "rough" acoustic upright piano sound. The piano was built by Svenska Pianofabriken (the Swedish Piano Factory). The very careful tuning was made to achieve that perfect "pub/livingroom piano" sound.

All sounds are available as a free download from Clavia's web site. It's also possible to order all the sounds on a CD-R from your local Clavia instrument distributor.
