  • Band-In-A-Box 2009 For Windows And 101 New Realtracks

    By Guest |

PG Music Inc. has released version 2009 of its popular, award-winning Band-in-a-Box intelligent music accompaniment software for Windows.

In announcing the release of Band-in-a-Box 2009, program author and creator Peter Gannon said, "We are excited to offer this new version of Band-in-a-Box with 101 new RealTracks, a new MIDI Styles Set; and over 40 new features and enhancements like RealCharts (allowing you to see notation for the RealTracks), Audio Chord Wizard (figuring out the chords from MP3 files), Freeze Song, Melody Wizard and many more. What makes this even more exciting is that we are now offering several of the Band-in-a-Box packages pre-installed and ready to run on an included USB hard drive. It is great to be able to offer this added convenience to our customers."

RealTracks are not MIDI patterns or samples of single instrument hits, but actual audio instruments recorded by studio musicians that replace the MIDI track and play along in sync to the chord progressions you enter. Band-in-a-Box 2008 included 3 RealTracks, and 70 additional RealTracks were introduced during 2008. Now with Band-in-a-Box 2009 we've added 101 more great RealTracks for Jazz, Rock, Pop, Country, and Blues. Additional features and enhancements in version 2009 include RealCharts which display the notation, tab and on-screen guitar fretboard for many of the RealTracks. We've enhanced the Audio Chord Wizard feature which figures out chords from MP3 files and the RealTracks arrangements and sounds. We've added artist information and bios for the great artists performing the RealTracks. There's a Freeze Song option that freezes and saves a song arrangement so it plays back faster without requiring the regeneration of RealTracks and other tracks. The MIDI Wizard is improved with a Melody Wizard that allows you to trigger notes from the Melody, including approach notes, and many more.

Full details, including video and audio demos are at the PG Music Inc. website.
