Audiotech, makers of guitar effects pedals and handy switching devices for musicians, have announced the official release of their Source Selector 1X6 Rack Mount Switching Unit. The Source Selectors six channels allow you to switch between and control multiple guitars; amplifiers and wireless receiver units live onstage or in the studio. "The Source Selector was developed when the guys from Mö"tley Crü"e asked us to build a six (no pun intended) channel switching unit for Nikki Sixx's bass rig," says company president Eric Roberts.
He adds, "The guys needed to switch between 4 (guitar) wireless units, in addition to having a straight cable and a mute to switch between. Something they couldn't do with the unit they were using or units that are currently out there that only allow 4 channels to switch between and add a lot of extra bells and whistles that artists and guitar techs simply don't need. So they suggested a 6 channel switching unit, we built it and it's been a great success with a lot of top touring professionals." Other top artists using the Source Selector include John Fogerty and Paul Simon.
The Source Selector features six front panel buttons for channel selection and six high brightness LED's above each button for channel indication. It comes with seven 1/4" jacks on the back for channels "1", "2", "3", "4", "5" and "6" and a common "In/Out". The recommended power supply for the Source Selector is the Audiotech SS1X6PS-1 9VDC 1200MA wall adapter (not included). It also includes Audiotech's standard two year warranty on all parts and labor.
