  • American DJ Adds Galaxian 3D With Rotating Green Beams

    By Guest |

American DJ's has taken its Galaxian laser effect to a whole new dimension of excitement with the introduction of the Galaxian 3D. Like other members of the popular Galaxian series, the Galaxian 3D is a solar system-type DJ/club effect that produces more than 500 pin-sized red and green laser beams, which, when projected on a ceiling or wall, give the appearance of a galaxy of stars in the sky. But the Galaxian 3D takes its celestial show a step (make that a dimension!) further. Its cutting-edge green laser offers the extra feature of being able to rotate back and forth, giving added movement and depth to the shower of beams, so the effect appears to be in 3D. What you visualize is an out-of-this-world cosmic experience that makes you feel like you're moving through three-dimensional outer space with a myriad of stars dancing around you. "The Galaxian 3D is the 'surround sound' of solar system effects — in fact, you can think of it as 'surround sky,'" said Scott Davies, general manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. "By adding rotation to the fixture's green laser, we have brought an exciting new dimension — literally and figuratively— to the Galaxian, which already ranks as one of the most successful new product lines American DJ has launched in recent times." Equipped with a 30mW green laser and an 80mW red laser, the Galaxian 3D packs all the other features that have made the Galaxian series an instant classic with small clubs and mobile entertainers. Although compact and easy to transport, the pint-sized laser has a massive beam spread and a 107¿¿ beam angle, covering an extremely large area with its shower of shimmering stars. Its sharp, bright red and green beams create exciting animated patterns on walls and ceiling that look great with or without fog, making the Galaxian 3D ideal for gigs where fog machines aren't allowed. For added eye pop, the Galaxian includes a random slow-to-fast strobe effect. Featuring electrifying built-in programs and a sound active mode, the Galaxian 3D is also very easy to operate. Just plug it in and watch it run through its internal programs to the beat of the music. For DJs, bands and clubs who want to create their own customized light show, the Galaxian 3D can be operated with a standard DMX-512 controller, via 5 DMX channels that give users control over the its lasers, strobing, rotation and macros. Additionally, multiple units can be linked together with 3-pin XLR connectors and run Master-Slave. Another control option is to run the Galaxian 3D remotely with American DJ's universal UC3 Remote Control (sold separately), which can be plugged into a ¼" input included on the unit. An easy-to-read Digital Display makes it easy for users to navigate through the fixture's Menu. The Galaxian 3D also features high-quality 1.8¿¿ stepper motors with micro-stepping for smooth, accurate movements. Fully FDA compliant, it includes switchable voltage (115V/60Hz or 230V/50Hz) and has a very low power consumption, just 23W at 115V. Designed for mobile or club use, the Galaxian 3D measures a compact 10"L x 9.75"W x 3"H and weighs just 6 lbs. It includes a hanging bracket for easy mounting. The MSRP of the Galaxian 3D is $479.95. The Galaxian 3D is a member of American DJ's popular Galaxian Laser Effect Series, which also includes: the Galaxian red and green laser solar system-type effect; the Galaxian Move, a red and green moving head laser effect; and the Galaxian Sky, a "Liquid Sky" green laser effect.
