Based on the GL4000, the new GL4800 is the flagship console in the third generation GL range. It is available in 24, 32, 40 and 48 frame sizes, each offering a choice of all mono, 4 stereo or 8 stereo channels.

The GL4800 provides 8 groups, 10 auxes, LRM main mixes, an 11x4 matrix and extensive mode switching, enabling this console to perform FOH, monitor or recording duties, or any combination of these simultaneously. The matrix can even be added to the aux for creating quick monitor mixes combining groups and LRM with key channel sends, or for adding FX to grouped signals. Its trimmable channel direct outputs, group trims, matrix and multiple main outputs provide a unique capability for recording, whether live or in a studio. Also featured are mute groups and snapshots, MIDI, aux master faders and inserts, per channel pre/post aux flexibility, Solo-in-Place, and individual talkback.

Retaining its solid build in a new-style, all metal chassis, the console is constructed using individual cards with nutted pots, dual rail Alps K-faders, full length illuminated VU meterpod, soft armrest, and top grade components throughout including gold plated XLRs and metal bodied jack sockets. The audio performance has been enhanced with a new, ultra-quiet mix bus head amp design for increased dynamic range, an a responsive full sweep, switched Q equalizer design.

Other models in the new range are the GL2400, GL2800 and GL3800. The GL4800 will ship later this month.
