When it comes to developing the guitarists of tomorrow, nothing is as important as quality entry-level and intermediate instruments, as exemplified by the latest additions to the classic Yamaha Pacifica Series, the PAC012 and PAC112J.

"Yamaha is tapping into new markets more strongly than ever before," states David Bergstrom, director of marketing, Yamaha Corporation of America, Combo Group. "Good, affordable instruments like these encourage new players--and keep them interested as they develop their chops."

The PAC012 delivers craftsmanship and tone that belie its affordable price point, with an Agathis body mated to a Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Electronics include the popular dual single-coil/single humbucker combination, a five-way selector switch, and passive volume and tone controls. The PAC012 carries an attractive MSRP of $249 and is available in Black, Red Metallic, and Dark Blue Metallic finishes.

The classic tone of a traditional solid Alder body highlights the design of the PAC112J. Like the PAC012, it offers a slick Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard, chrome hardware, and a single-coil/single humbucker pickup configuration. Finishes include Black, Red Metallic, Lake Blue and Translucent Dark Green. The PAC112J retails for just $299.

"These guitars get developing players off to the right start," notes Gary Cook, product manager, Yamaha Guitars, "and can take you from the beginning stage to 'the stage.'"
