ACID Pro 3.0 Released

Sonic Foundry Inc., a developer and marketer of digital media and Internet software tools and services, announced the highly-anticipated release of ACID PRO 3.0.

ACID PRO 3.0 is the latest version of Sonic Foundrys multi-award winning loop based music creation software that allows the user to create original, royalty-free music with a simple click, paint, and play interface. This software is used to create songs, remix tracks, develop music beds, score videos, and develop music for Web sites and Flash animation.

This new version of ACID PRO 3.0 has added the following features:

• Beatmapper This patent pending technology enables users to create custom remixes of their favorite songs by allowing them to synchronize existing songs with music loops.
• Video Scoring Track Allows users to import video files and score original music to create the perfect music bed.
• Chopper Lets users slice up music loops and rearrange them to create drum fills, drum rolls, stutters, and DJ-style effects.
• MIDI File Support Permits users to import and record MIDI files into ACID projects. MIDI Time Code generation and synchronization with external devices is also supported.
• Sound Forge XP Studio 5.0 digital audio editor Provides ACID users a program to create and record ACID loops and the ability to assign root notes, number of beats, and tempo.
• Twelve new DirectX Audio Plug-Ins from XFX 2 and XFX 3 Includes Distortion, Flange, three Eqs, and Amplitude Modulation.
• New import formats Supports Windows Media Audio (WMA), OGG Vorbis (OGG), Perfect Clarity Audio (PCA). Export formats include QuickTime (MOV), Windows Video (AVI), RealVideo 8 (RM), RealAudio 8 (RA), OGG Vorbis (OGG) and Perfect Clarity Audio (PCA)

ACID PRO 3.0 is currently available as a download at sonicfoundry.com and is expected to ship in a boxed version by the end of May 2001. The MSRP is $499.95 and is available from Sonic Foundry for $349.97 as a download (30% off) and $399.96 for a boxed product (20% off). Users of any previous version of ACID PRO can upgrade to ACID PRO 3.0 for $99.99 as a download and $149.99 for a boxed copy.
