  • A.R.T.-istic New Body Shape For Yamaha Folk Guitars

    By Guest |

Yamaha's famed line of acoustic-electric folk guitar models, the FGX dreadnought and the FJX medium-jumbo series has been expanded to include a new member of the family, the FSX concert-sized guitar to be introduced at Winter NAMM 2010. Like its cousins, the FSX730SC and the FSX720SC offer exceptional value and build quality, including a solid Sitka Spruce top, a depth profile similar to a dreadnought, tight tuners, bound bodies and on-board amplification. The FSX730SC comes with the critically acclaimed one-way Acoustic Resonance Transducer (A.R.T.) preamp; the FSX720SC features a System55T piezo pickup with built-in tuner. "Our customers have been asking for a concert-sized FG acoustic-electric cutaway for a long time," says Dennis Webster, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The FSX series is a perfect gigging acoustic-electric guitar with a comfortable body profile that is still deep enough to push major air and the pickup system is awesome, to boot. These guitars are hands-down winners." The FSX730SC (MSRP: $749) and the FSX720SC (MSRP: $649) are expected to ship in February 2010.
