  • Fender Montara

    Hey guys,

I've got an old Fender Montara I'm going to start fixing up. Anyway, it is in great condition except that one of the tuners is broken. Since this was a rather unorthodox acoustic I'm not sure what sort of replacement part to get. I've included a few pictures to better indicate the issue. Thanks in advance for your help!

Those are your basic 6 to a side minis. Ping, Gotoh, and Schaller all make ones that look like that. ALthough you can get them anywhere, you are probably better off getting a whole new set than putting in one that is a close match. You can get new Pings for around $25. Stewmac has the Schallers for $46

or Gotohs for $33 a set or $5.50 each

Can't help you on your tuners, but I do have about 4 zip drives, all USB, some powered, some plug in if you want. Tons of disks I can throw in if you want.

Those are Gotoh tuners on that Montara. You could check guitar and repair shops-they often have a "junk" drawer with spare parts, replaced tuners and such and might have a single Gotoh that would work.Hard to tell from pix-maybe all you need is the knob?
