  • designer edition american deluxe strat

I just bought one of these today at a local pawn shop. It is not like a regular deluxe strat. The body is black with cream colored binding on the front. The head is black and says " Fender Stratocaster" in silver. On the back of the head is the sereal # DZO###### made in USA and a sticker ( decal) that says american designer edition. The DZO part of the sereal makes it a deluxe made in 2000.It has all of the deluxe stuff. Locking tuners noissless PUs. No s1 switch. Chrome pick guard and large chrom Knobs.I can not find anything on the web about this guitar. I will try to get a picture up as soona s I can find my camera. The guitar seems of very good quality and plays and sounds great so far. Anyone know anything about these?

There were 120 of theses made ion 2001-2002 for Guitar Center. They had an MRS of $1879 and sold for $1495, They are not listed in the Guitar Price Guide. Fender customer service can provide you with all the specs

Old threads show up in Google searches, which is okay with me rather than someone start a new thread.
