Members Megajosh20 Posted February 14, 2013 Members Share Posted February 14, 2013 When I turn on my amp (with nothing plugged into the input or fxloop) it makes this static crackling sound as it turns on and a low humming noise. I tapped the preamp tubes with a pencil and didn't hear any sounds from them. Could this be bad power tubes? The inside of the amp was pretty dusty when I unscrewed the back plate.
