Members Uh_Me
My band is doing a cover of "Say Something", and kinda going for a grungey punk-esque sound with it, but I'm having some problems with the vocals. I think the quieter parts sound okay and will get better with just regular practice, but this raspy scream type of singing is really new to me. I'm much more accustomed to more Jack White or Robert Plant like vocals, and getting that scratchy, throaty yell is just avoiding me. Below is a link to a quick recording I did of just me and my guitar as I'll be playing it. No over dubs except for a slight single slap delay on my guitar via a pedal. I'm not a traditionally trained singer by any means (I really just feel for the right note and remember it), so any advice, please keep it as simple as you can. Members Onacor
The whole approach didn't work.. The music (guitar) didn't suit it at all.. The vocals, were terrible on it. Just doing grit to your voice, doesn't make it suit a song or genre (punk).. *** You do MUCH better with some of the other tunes on your page btw..
