Members IndofunkCity
So, I've always been paranoid about using a standard snake with plastic brushes to clean out the handslide on my Firebird, thinking that if I scratch it at all it'll affect how freely the slide moves. What I've been doing is cleaning the shank with a soft cloth, and the inside of the slide with ... well, just with water and I shake the slide a bit to loosen any dirt in there. Of course, this leaves the crook of the slide untouched by either shank or brush, so I'm sure it's getting a bit congested in there. How do you guys clean your handslide? Members soundministries
I just use running water and let that do the job for me. Now I do this a number of times a year so I haven't had the build up of stuff, but I wouldn't be afraid to use a snake when neccesary.
Members jonathan_matos5
yeah i use the shank for the inner slide and the snake for the crook. i usually will run some diluted dish soap through it too. as long as you are not removing the chrome or nickel or whatever it is these days on the inner slide it should stay smooth.
