I own www.audiopile.net "Audiopile" came from my college days in the mid to late '70's, where I developed my logo (as a class project) and as I remember, I first registered the business name. The "Audiopile" name was dubbed by my frat house brothers. We were a house of gear heads (car and audio wise). There were lots of fine component stereo systems in the house... everybody vying for bragging rights. I put myself through college driving school bus, playing music, and deejaying (at a radio station). I put together my first real PA system in 1976 (Carvin system... soon replaced by JBL 4560's and 2370's... PL-400's, then DC-300's). I "stored" my PA in my frat house room... transported it in my '69 El Camino SS 396. Anyway... during the week... there was lots of bragging at the dinner table from other house members about the latest and greatest acquisitions from Bose, Pioneer, Advent, Sony, etc... but when it came time for a mixer on Friday nights with a sorority (tunes, booze, munchies, and ladies).... everybody agreed: Let's haul up Hellinger's Audiopile for the party on the patio (if I wasn't playing a show). Hence, the name.
