Members Stabby
This is pretty much the only analog synth I can afford (150-200 euro second hand). I've been looking for demo's showing off funky leads but haven't found anything. I have heard this nice demo with funky basses, but I want lead sounds. Perhaps someone could make a demo? Members The groin
Yeah, it can do pretty decent leads once you get used to the weak filter and learn how to program it accordingly. For the price it is actually an excellent piece of equipment. I don't know what kind of sound you're after, but the leads (beginning at 0:30) in this song were made with a Mopho anyway: http://soundcloud.com/los-palindromas/en-tallrik-med-mat-absolute-ego-dance-ymo-cover
Members Stabby
"Pretty decent" sounds kind of negative. I like the lead in your song though. What I'm looking for is something like this: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4brzv_skalp-solo-synthe-ms2000-on-funkin_music But of course there should be lots of other possibilities. Members Acid Hazard
See, i thought the filters sound just fine. Not weak at all. And it can do funky leads just fine.
Members The groin
See, i thought the filters sound just fine. Not weak at all. And it can do funky leads just fine. I'm sort of picky about filters and the gripe I have with all of DSI's filters is how dull they sound, when you crank up the resonance the sound dies long before it starts to self oscillate. Before I bought mine I read somewhere that it would have a "classic Curtis sound" and since the SSM2044 is one of my all time favourite filters I foolishly thought that it would at least share some similarities. It didn't and I was a bit disappointed, frankly. But now I'm over it and I really like the Mopho for what it is, it's got very specific tone. I'm actually thinking of getting a Tetra, too. Members -groovatious-
Save up for a used Moog Slim Phatty and your funky analog lead needs will be permanently fulfilled.
Members Stabby
Man, I don't even have unweighted keys so a Little Phatty would be amazing for me. Being poor sucks. Guess it's time to save up for a Mopho Keyboard. That's not entirely out of reach financially.
Members DocT
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4brzv_skalp-solo-synthe-ms2000-on-funkin_music If you can play and modulate as well as the guy in the video, you can basically take every instrument like synthesizer, workstation, rompler, softsynth or Mopho for funky leads. Some Mopho sounds, though I can't play well at all: http://www.trippler.net/files/p1/mopho3exc.mp3

Members Hexeract
I loved the mopho sound, it was a monster, nice and dirty, or sharp and funky, great snappy attack, just the programing is unusable. I'm definitely getting a Tempest though, looks programmable.
